Eight solar-powered water systems now serving schools and communities

EWS Foundation

Installed in partnership with World Vision International, the systems provide safe, climate-resilient water to 3,040 people across eight schools and the communities around them.

Eight solar-powered water systems installed through our partnership with World Vision International are now serving eight schools and the surrounding communities, providing safe water to 3,040 people.

Mechanised systems change what a water point can do. A hand pump serves the households within walking distance of it; a solar-powered system with elevated storage can supply a school block, a clinic and several tap stands from one borehole, and it keeps working through the dry season when shallow sources fail.

Each installation is handed to a trained Water Users Association, which is why over 95% of the water systems EWSFA has installed since 2017 remain functional today.
