Environmental Management and Climate Resilience
Environmental Management and Climate Resilience
Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration, community tree nurseries and climate-smart practices that restore landscapes and protect livelihoods.
EWSFA integrates climate change adaptation and mitigation across all of its programmes. We promote climate-smart agriculture, climate-resilient water systems, ecosystem conservation, disaster risk reduction and sustainable natural resource management.
Through repurposed funding from our partnership with World Vision International, two Group Village Head areas have established and trained Natural Resource Management Committees. These committees are now implementing Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) in their own communities, have set up community tree nurseries, and have been supplied with indigenous tree seeds and polythene tubes so they can raise seedlings for planting locally.
What we have delivered
- 2 Natural Resource Management Committees established and trained
- Community tree nurseries established and stocked with indigenous seed
- More than 2,500 grafted fruit trees distributed and planted in communities and schools
